The Second Husband Way: Fort Lauderdale Edition

The Second Husband Way: Fort Lauderdale Edition

Fort Lauderdale greeted us with exactly what we needed: ocean breezes, strong cocktails, and meals worth remembering.

Dinner at Takato

📍 Takato, 551 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd

We started at Takato, perched right on the water, where every plate felt like a little luxury. The sushi was clean and elegant—the Lizzie-San Roll and the Aburi Sake were, quite literally, to die for. Perfectly balanced, just enough heat, just enough richness.

And then came the showstopper: A5 Wagyu Hot Stone. There’s something indulgent about searing buttery ribbons of Wagyu at your own table, cocktail in hand, the Atlantic at your back. It’s the kind of dinner that lingers with you—not just for the food, but for the atmosphere. Refined yet relaxed, with just enough edge to keep it interesting.

Morning at Village Café

📍 Village Café, 551 Breakers Avenue

The next morning was all about ease. At Village Café, breakfast unfolded slowly and beautifully. Their fruit plate was no afterthought—dragon fruit, watermelon, citrus, papaya—arranged like art. The kind of spread that makes you want to linger.

The omelet was French perfection—soft, pale, and delicate, as it should be. Add in pancakes dusted with sugar, golden and  extra fluffy, and it became the kind of breakfast that sets the tone for an unhurried day.

The Vibe

What tied it all together was the atmosphere—both restaurants giving us what we chase at Second Husband: indulgence without stiffness. Takato delivered high-end dining with the hum of ocean waves; Village Café gave us comfort and calm, the kind that makes you want to order another iced coffee and stay awhile.

Fort Lauderdale, consider us fans.
